The curriculum encompasses core courses that emphasize world understanding; scientific and analytic curiosity; artistic and creative imagination; and communication and language fluency — all valuable knowledge you need in the field. This program also makes it easy for you to move into the Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, where you will receive your initial certification to work in public or private school systems. 

Note: The Associate of Arts in Elementary Education does not lead to initial teaching certification. Students wishing to be certified must transition to the Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.

Since the exercise began in 1999, ³ûÄñÊÓƵ’s Intercollegiate Mediation Team has been an active participant in college mediation tournaments, which draw students from across the world. ³ûÄñÊÓƵ won the mediation title in 2002 and 2014, and has frequently finished in the top 10 in mediation. Regardless of their major, ³ûÄñÊÓƵ students have the opportunity to showcase their work in creative writing and the visual arts in , the university’s annual published literature and arts magazine. Students are welcome to submit more than one piece with written submissions no longer than 1,000 words. All writers and artists retain their copyrights.

The Bachelor of Arts in Music has two concentrations, advanced music or a secondary area of study. Advanced music students take courses that focus on high-level music skills, which will prepare you for a career as a performer or admission to music graduate schools. Students who wish to concentrate in a secondary area of study might include psychology, business or other interdisciplinary areas. 

Whatever your goals may be, ³ûÄñÊÓƵ’s faculty will work with you one-on-one to expand your understanding of music and ensure you’re growing as a musician. With private studio lessons in piano as well as voice or your chosen instrument, you’ll get the hands-on experience that you need to thrive in a musical career.

Whether you want to work behind the scenes or on stage in film, television, theatre or arts education, we have the tools to help you succeed. As a student in the Bachelor of Arts in Theatre program, you’ll have the opportunity to experience all that the theatre has to offer. ³ûÄñÊÓƵ’s well-rounded offerings give you the opportunity to sample various aspects of the industry— including directing, performance, design and tech, and dramaturgy —Ìý to see what’s right for you. You’ll have the flexibility to focus on one area of study, or to sample from all four, so when you graduate, you’ll be prepared with the practical skills to thrive in the creative world.Ìý

  • Work on professional-level productions with the  starting in your first semester, and apply the skills you’ve learned from across the discipline

You’ll learn the accounting cycle, develop an ability to record transactions, conduct research and find the facts necessary to carry out your job. ³ûÄñÊÓƵ’s faculty members will work directly with you to ensure that you have the quantitative and analytical tools to succeed in the business world after graduation. You’ll also take courses above the introductory level in accounting to better prepare for licensure as a certified public accountant.
